After five or six days in Cleveland, we made our way to Columbus. We stopped at a few towns along the way just to explore. There were some beautiful quaint downtowns.
On a whim, we stopped in to look at a property that was for sale. The 1890s farmhouse was really cute but needed a ton of work.
I was in love with the old barn. We dreamed of restoring it into a home.
Once we made it to Columbus, we realized that the city resembles nothing of what it was fifteen years ago. The main street that goes through Columbus is called the High Street and stretches from south of downtown all the way up to the university. The entire length of it is walkable. We happened to be staying in Short North which turned out to be an amazing part of town.
One hotspot that you simply have to visit when in Columbus is the North Market. Between the food stations, the market itself (both inside and outside), we managed to spend a small fortune on the deliciousness.
We spent most of our time in Columbus tooling around, eating, and hanging out. We loved the walkability of the area. The restaurants were incredible. We loved the city so much that we even spent one afternoon going to various open houses to see how the real estate market is up there. It can be summed up with one word: pricey.
Just chilling out and resting were just what we needed. Our biggest adventures in Columbus consisted of walking to eat, and the one very exciting day we went to a movie theater and watched a movie (our first since Malaysia). All in all, it was a great stop. Columbus has turned into an amazing, diverse, lively city that we would all love to go back to.
