Dusit Zoo: We went to the Thailand zoo, also known as the Dusit zoo. When we walked in, we went to see the giraffes and zebras. The giraffes and zebras were in the same enclosure. The enclosure that they were in was a pretty good size for them. Then, we headed over to the cafeteria. On our way to the cafeteria, we walked past the sun bears. The two sun bears that were together were playing, and that was really cool. Once we got to the cafeteria, we picked a food station. The food wasn’t very good, but it was edible for lunch. Once we were done with lunch, we headed over to a big bird cage. It was not one that you could go inside, because it was glass. We were looking at the birds, and we saw this really weird looking bird. He was born with a really crooked beak which is called scissor beak. Once we were done looking at the birds (which did not last long because my mom does not like birds), we headed over to the elephants. There were three Asian elephants that had a good sized enclosure. The elephants were right next to a wombat. He was really cute! He was probably a couple of hundred pounds. Then, we moved over to the koalas. They were inside, and they were super cute! The koala cages were pretty small, but one was connected to another one. Then, we went inside for the penguins. Inside, there were about twenty penguins and about four different kinds of penguins in one enclosure. Then, we went to the hippo enclosure (which was outside). At the hippo enclosure you could see under the water and above water which was really cool.
After, we walked on the sky walk. On the sky walk, we saw some moon bears and sun bears in their enclosure. We also saw a fishing cat, a white tiger, some white lions, and lionesses. We stopped and went into the reptile house which was air conditioned. Inside there were a lot of different kinds of snakes. In the back of the reptile house which was outside, there were turtles and alligators. After that, we went back up to the sky walk, and we saw the one black leopard. The zoo also has a breeding program for endangered monkeys. Then we went back to our apartment.
I would recommend you visit this zoo.
The thing I didn’t like the most about the zoo was that the elephants were trick elephants which I do not support. Elephants who do tricks for tourists get abused or hit with hooks by the mahouts, and the flashes from cameras damage their eyes.
The zoo part was good though, and the animals had reasonable sized enclosures.
The bathrooms were clean, and there were lots of choices for food at the cafeteria.
